With a deep understanding that “Safe school - happy students” is a prerequisite to improve the quality of education . Since the 2020-2021 school year, Phan Chau Trinh Secondary School has built and deployed the model “Safe, friendly school, no school violence”; core members of the model include the school board of directors, team leader, school youth union secretary and essentially homeroom teachers.
According to Mr. Vo Van Le, Principal of the school, to make the model effective, the school regularly organizes seminars on preventing school violence and child abuse for students, teachers and parents.
The school also invited the commune police to give talks on the law, traffic safety, cyber security, and how to deal with threats or bullying. Life skills and conflict resolution skills were integrated into Literature, Civic Education, and Experiential Activities classes.
The school also diversified the forms of education in experiential activities, organized a drama performance called “Say no to school violence and child abuse”, helping students receive the message in a vivid and memorable way. The Youth Union launched the movement “A good word every day, a good deed every week” to spread good behavior to students.
Along with various forms of propaganda, the school also promotes the role of each force, in which homeroom teachers directly manage the class, grasp the situation of each student, closely coordinate with parents and other forces to monitor, support, and intervene promptly when problems arise.

The school established a School Psychology Advisory Team consisting of school leaders, Youth Union Secretary, Team Leader, homeroom teacher and medical staff. When there is a conflict, the advisory team promptly meets, listens, reconciles, helps students relieve their psychological stress; maintains a three-way communication channel between school - family - locality to quickly handle situations.
Mr. Ho Viet Hang, Secretary of the Youth Union of Phan Chau Trinh Secondary School, said: The model of "Safe, friendly, violence-free school" has brought about many positive changes. Extracurricular activities, creative experiences, and thematic activities are regularly implemented. Students are allowed to share and express their opinions, thereby reducing conflicts and respecting differences.
The model has significantly reduced the number of students dropping out of school due to violence. Many students who had intended to drop out of school have been cared for, encouraged, and supported by teachers and friends to reintegrate. Attendance rates have been maintained stably, contributing to improving the overall quality of education.
