School in Ho Chi Minh City "whistled" for information related to 10th grade exam

(Dan Tri) - The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City "blown the whistle" on the principals of several high schools for not properly updating information on 10th grade enrollment targets for the 2025-2026 school year.

On March 12, the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City issued a document reminding and correcting principals of public and non-public high schools about posting information on enrollment targets for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year.

Accordingly, Mr. Duong Tri Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that recently, on the websites, fanpages, social networks... of some high schools (public and non-public) have announced unclear information on enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year, including specifically stating the expected number of enrollment targets for grade 10 in the 2025-2026 school year of the unit.

While the content has not been reviewed and approved by the Department of Education and Training, this causes confusion and negatively affects the reputation of the industry, affects the psychology of parents and students, and makes public opinion indignant regarding the implementation process of the enrollment plan of the Ho Chi Minh City education and training sector.

The Department of Education and Training reminded and disciplined the principals of a number of high schools who did not properly follow the Department's instructions in the past regarding this issue.

The Department also emphasized that schools are absolutely not allowed to provide information that has not been assessed and approved by competent authorities.

Currently, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City is synthesizing, reviewing, and assessing the conditions of facilities, equipment, and human resources as a basis for assessment and assigning enrollment targets for grade 10 for the 2025-2026 school year to units.

In order to ensure compliance with regulations during the enrollment process for the 2025-2026 school year, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training requested that high school principals urgently remove or adjust inaccurate information about the announced enrollment information for the 2025-2026 school year.

Review, rectify, and thoroughly inform all cadres, teachers, and employees in the school not to arbitrarily provide unofficial enrollment information for the 2025-2026 school year on websites, fanpages, social networks, etc.

According to the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, the quota for public 10th graders in the 2025-2026 school year is expected to increase by at least 5-10% compared to 2024, fluctuating between 70-80%. The rate of students entering public 10th graders in 2025 will be high.

It is expected that by the end of March, the Department of Education and Training will have a decision on assigning grade 10 quotas for the 2025-2026 school year to each school.
