These days, the red flag with yellow star flutters on every street corner to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2). Every Vietnamese person feels a sacred and immortal pride.

For today's young generation, born and raised in peace , studying, playing and pursuing dreams, we understand more than anyone that this peace does not come naturally. It is the exchange of blood, tears and sacrifices of previous generations.

September 2, the day Uncle Ho read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square, was not only a historical milestone marking the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam but also a strong affirmation of the will and aspirations of a nation.

To have that moment and to maintain independence, millions of Vietnamese people did not hesitate to follow the call of the country. They were steadfast soldiers, ready to put aside their youth and personal happiness to take up arms and go to war. They were mothers, sisters, and wives in the steadfast rear, silently enduring loss and pain.

Today, living on a land where there is no longer the sound of bombs and bullets, we can walk on the wide roads, breathe the air of freedom and see the future open before us. That is the priceless gift that the heroic martyrs have left behind. We are grateful to our fathers and brothers who sacrificed, and to the heroic Vietnamese mothers who endured so much pain and loss. Each glorious page of history, each brave example is a reminder of the responsibility of today's generation.

Our gratitude must not only be expressed in words but also demonstrated by actions. We will try to study, work and contribute to building the country.

The immortal National Day September 2 is not only a holiday but also a promise from today's generation to those who have fallen, that we will continue to light the flame of independence and freedom, so that the Fatherland will last forever./.
