On the evening of September 23, in Ha Tinh city, a lantern procession festival was held to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. This is the first festival held in Ha Tinh on a grand scale, with the theme "Thanh Sen lantern procession festival".
Previously, Ha Tinh City assigned localities to organize Mid-Autumn Festival on a small scale, this is the first time a lantern procession has passed through all the streets. "The purpose is to give people interesting experiences, and also to stimulate tourism development," Ha Tinh City leaders shared.
To prepare for the festival, the Party Committee and the government of Ha Tinh City have directed and prepared the material facilities as well as the traditional and cultural lantern procession.
"Thanh Sen" is another name for Ha Tinh ancient citadel, built in 1882 in the area that is now Tan Giang ward, Ha Tinh city.

Dozens of giant Mid-Autumn lantern models in various shapes such as dragons, fish, and stars, crafted by locals from iron, steel, bamboo, and paper, were put on display.
Among these are many large-sized lanterns like dragon mascots, more than 10m long and 1m wide, made by people of Thang Loi village, Dong Mon commune, Ha Tinh city in 10 days.

Mr. Duong Tat Thang - Secretary of Ha Tinh City Party Committee said that the city wishes to organize a special and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival for the people, especially the children. Through the festival, to educate the cultural traditions and spiritual values of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, also to stimulate the economic, cultural and social development of the city, worthy of being the political , economic and social center of Ha Tinh province.

It is known that this year, the Mid-Autumn Festival is not only organized by Ha Tinh City for one night, but for two nights on Saturday and Sunday evenings this week (September 23 and 24). In addition, agencies, wards, and neighborhoods also have Mid-Autumn Festival activities, breaking the moon cake for children.

The Mid-Autumn Festival lantern procession passed through many major roads in Ha Tinh City. Dozens of police officers were deployed on both sides of the road to direct traffic.
Many locals and tourists gathered on both sides of the street, cheering and taking advantage of the opportunity to use their phones to record the fun moments of the lantern procession.
