Hoi An launches first tourist wharf to welcome visitors to Cam Thanh coconut forest

On the afternoon of October 3, Thanh Tam inland waterway port - the first tourist boat docking station in Cam Thanh coconut forest (Hoi An) was inaugurated and put into operation.

Cam Thanh Coconut Forest is a famous tourist destination located about 3km from Hoi An ancient town. It welcomes thousands of visitors every day, but most of the pick-up areas have not been solidified.

Mr. Tran Tan Dung - Chairman of Hoi An Dong Ward People's Committee ( Da Nang City) - said that on September 22, the Ward People's Committee issued a decision to announce the operation of Thanh Tam inland tourism wharf.

This is an important foundation in developing waterway tourism infrastructure, contributing to diversifying tourism products and enhancing the experience for local tourists.

"The operation of Thanh Tam inland tourism wharf will contribute to developing the waterway transport network, enhancing connections between river tourism routes; creating a highlight for tourism infrastructure, and improving the quality of local services," said Mr. Dung.

At the launching ceremony of the water wharf on the afternoon of October 3, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoi An Dong Ward also said that in addition to the new water wharf, the government will also consider tightening the activities of transporting tourists to visit the coconut forest by basket boat.

In the coming time, Hoi An Dong ward will move the locations where mobile speakers are used on the river away from residential areas, carry out projects to expand the waterways and increase the area covered by coconut forests to serve tourism more professionally.

Thanh Tam wharf is located on Cam Thanh river, technically designed as a level 4 wharf with an area of ​​over ^61m2 , reinforced concrete structure.

The wharf is capable of receiving vehicles with a draft of 0.85m, with a maximum capacity of 26 passengers.
