During the talks, Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic affirmed continued support for a peaceful solution and prevention of human losses in Kosovo-Metohija, and called for an objective assessment of the situation in this locality.

Speaking at a press conference later, the Serbian Foreign Minister said that he had informed his counterpart Rasmussen about the detailed situation in the Kosovo-Metohija region. According to him, the Brussels agreement was not fully complied with, regarding the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities.

Thanking Denmark for helping Serbia integrate into the European Union (EU), he asked Copenhagen to pay attention to Belgrade's interests and national defense needs.

For his part, Mr. Rasmussen welcomed Serbia's progress, regarding the reform program in areas such as digitalization, energy transition or wastewater control.

The Danish Foreign Minister believes that Serbia's future belongs to the EU and affirmed Copenhagen's commitment to helping Belgrade further integrate.

The recent positive trend in relations has helped the two countries successfully sign intergovernmental agreements on health care and energy.

Relations between Denmark and Serbia show positive and intertwined developments in many areas. In terms of defense, in 2006, the two countries signed for the first time a military cooperation program, with the aim of improving military capabilities and regional security cooperation.

Cultural exchanges between the two countries are also vibrant. The Danish Embassy in Serbia has collaborated with local organizations to organize the Belgrade Dance Festival, the Belgrade Book Fair and the Belgrade Jazz Festival on many occasions.
