Vietnam U20 women score unbelievable goal in Asian qualifiers

The Vietnam U20 women's team, led by coach Okiyama Masahiko, had a resounding 5-0 victory over U20 Singapore in the 2026 AFC U20 Championship qualifiers taking place in Hanoi.

On the evening of August 6, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team achieved their initial goal when they got 3 points against U20 Singapore in Group B of the 2026 AFC U20 Championship qualifiers. Thereby, U20 Vietnam women's team temporarily leads the group with a goal difference of +5.

The opening goal came to U20 women's Vietnam in the 15th minute. After a skillful dribble by number 9 Luu Hoang Van, number 13 Nguyen Vinh Thuc Nghi shot with her left foot, the ball went awkwardly into the far corner of the net.

Despite completely dominating the game, the U20 women's team of Vietnam did not score any more goals in the first half. It was the 45 minutes of the second half when Coach Masahiko's young girls crushed their opponents Singapore.

In the 48th minute, Y Za Luong doubled the gap with a left-footed cross-angle shot. The girl wearing the number 14 shirt neatly handled many technical moves from her right foot to her left foot and then shot hard.

2 minutes later, captain Luu Hoang Van once again showed her breakthrough role. She attracted all the Singapore defenders to the right wing and passed to Nguyen Ngo Thao Nguyen to score easily.

Despite scoring 2 goals in the first 2 minutes of the second half to lead 3-0, it was not until the 86th minute that the U20 women's team of Vietnam scored the 4th goal. This was a very beautiful goal from a distance of 30m.

The author of the goal was substitute defender Nguyen Thi Thuong. The girl wearing shirt number 4 kicked the ball from the left wing straight into the Singapore goal, surprising the goalkeeper.

Taking advantage of the Singaporean girl's fatigue, Ca Thi Phuong scored her first goal in the 2026 Asian U20 Women's Qualifiers in the 88th minute. The final score was 5-0 for U20 Vietnam.

In the previous match, U20 Hong Kong (China) won U20 Kyrgyzstan 2-1.
