Thanh Nhan cannot compete with her teammates in the tournament.

On the morning of July 17, this player was taken to the hospital by the medical team for an MRI scan.

The results showed that Thanh Nhan suffered a ligament injury in her left ankle and could not recover in time to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament.

This is not the first time the young striker has missed important matches and tournaments due to injury.

Previously, Thanh Nhan had to be absent from the 2023 Asian Cup Finals, could not compete in the bronze medal match at the 32nd SEA Games and most recently could not attend the 2024 U23 Asian Finals.

To promptly supplement the force, coach Kim Sang-sik decided to recall versatile midfielder Le Van Thuan to replace Thanh Nhan's position.

The Korean coach also expressed regret and encouraged Thanh Nhan to return home to have the best treatment and recovery conditions.

Le Van Thuan was born in 2006 and is one of the outstanding young players who grew up at the Dong A Thanh Hoa training center.

Le Van Thuan was called up to the Vietnam U23 team in preparation for the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 tournament, the 2026 Asian U23 qualifiers and towards the 33rd SEA Games.

However, in the final list of 23 players, Van Thuan was not present.

According to plan, Van Thuan will be in Jakarta (Indonesia) tomorrow, July 18.
