According to initial information, at around 8:30 a.m. on August 14, An Hai Border Guard Station received a report that fishing vessel BD98470TS (942 horsepower, 18.2 meters long, tuna fishing) owned by Mr. Nguyen Van T. (born in 1985, residing in Hoai Nhon Bac ward, Gia Lai province), hit a reef and partially sank in the waters of Xom Cat village, O Loan commune, about 1 nautical mile from the coast. At the time of the accident, there were 5 fishermen on board.

Border guards rescue fishing boat in distress at sea

Upon receiving the news, An Hai Border Guard Station mobilized a vehicle of local fishermen and 5 officers and soldiers of the mobile unit to the area of ​​the fishing boat in distress, deployed rescue measures, assisted in overcoming the incident and promptly encouraged the fishermen in distress.

At 2:00 p.m. the same day, the unit continued to send 1 vehicle and 4 officers and soldiers to the location of the fishing boat in distress to continue assisting the fishermen in pulling the boat up. Afterwards, the fishing boat in distress was rescued and towed to Quy Nhon port for repairs.
