Not only overseas Vietnamese stars choose to return to their homeland to play, many foreign players with very high transfer prices also flock to V-League 2025 - 2026.

Having just entered the V-League, Ninh Binh Club (last season named Phu Dong Ninh Binh) attracted a lot of attention when bringing in two 20-year-old Vietnamese-American players: central midfielder Tran Thanh Trung (Chung Nguyen Do) and left-back Evan Abran.

Tran Thanh Trung is valued at 400,000 euros (about 12.2 billion VND) by the transfer website Transfermarkt. This player, whose parents are both Vietnamese, used to play for the Bulgarian U18 and U21 teams. Meanwhile, Evan Abran has a French father and a Vietnamese mother and used to play for the Lyon U19 team.

Although there were already 3 Vietnamese-American players in the squad when adding central defender Adou Minh, the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) also brought in a new Vietnamese-American player, Brandon Ly, who is very high quality. This player, born in 2005, has a Vietnamese father and an Irish mother. He used to play for the U18 Sheffield United and U21 Burnley teams (England).

Brandon Ly can play as a defensive midfielder or right-back. He is expected to shine like his other Vietnamese teammates at CAHN. "With a foundation in English football, versatility in defense and a progressive spirit, Brandon Ly promises to be an important piece in the team's future journey" - CAHN Club introduced its new player.

Another Vietnamese-American player who is also quite expected is Vadim Nguyen, when he was chosen to sign a contract with SHB Da Nang Club. Vadim Nguyen was born in 2005, his mother is Russian and his father is Vietnamese.

Trained from the youth team of FK Rostov Club, he was called by coach Philippe Troussier to prepare for the 2024 AFC U23 Championship. At that time, due to a match schedule with U19 FK Rostov, he could not participate.

Many foreign players are worth approximately one million euros.

The 2025 summer transfer window of V-League is witnessing a real "blockbuster" wave with a series of quality foreign players arriving. These new contracts are highly valued and create a leap forward in both expertise and brand for the tournament.

Preparing to defend the title in V-League and continental arena, Nam Dinh Club brought in a series of foreign players. Notably, defensive midfielder Njabulo Blom (South Africa) is valued at 950,000 euros and winger Mahmound Eid (Sweden and Palestine) is valued at 600,000 euros.

But the record of expensive foreign players in V-League promises not to stop. Because the deadline for finalizing the list of foreign players is still until September 14, the clubs are still in the process of negotiating and announcing new contracts.

Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club (last season was Ho Chi Minh City Club) is negotiating with two foreign players with "huge" prices, center back Matheus Felipe (Brazil) and midfielder Samuel Bastien (Congo and Belgium).

Matheus Felipe is valued at up to 1 million euros. If the negotiation is successful, this 27-year-old player will become the most expensive foreign player ever to come to V-League. Samuel Bastien is valued at 650,000 euros.

Although much lower than the 7 million euro valuation in October 2020 when joining Standard Liege Club (Belgium), Samuel Bastien is still in the top most expensive foreign players in V-League 2025 - 2026. If he has these two high-class foreign players, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club will be a very strong team.
