"The separation between VFF and Coach Troussier is completely different from the process that happened between KFA and Coach Jurgen Klinsmann," wrote reporter Kim Myeong-seok of Iplus - Sports Daily (Korea). This author mentioned the two head coaches of the Vietnamese and Korean national teams to compare the working methods of the two football federations.
Unlike Mr. Klinsmann, coach Philippe Troussier left the Vietnam team not because he was fired. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the French coach reached an agreement to terminate the contract. VFF did not have to pay compensation to Mr. Troussier but only paid a support amount.

Meanwhile, the Korean Football Association (KFA) lost a large sum of money when it fired coach Klinsmann. This was a unilateral action to terminate the contract, because the head coach of the Korean national team at that time refused to resign.
Reporter Kim Myeong-seok wrote: "Despite calls for his resignation, Mr. Klinsmann refused to leave voluntarily. The Korea Football Association did not have a termination clause and no agreement was reached. In the end, the KFA decided to fire Mr. Klinsmann with a contract fine.
The Korean Football Federation must pay up to 7 billion won (equivalent to more than 128 billion VND) in compensation for the remaining part of the contract for coach Klinsmann, including assistants, up to 10 billion won. This loss will certainly affect the process of selecting the next coach."
The Korean Football Association fired coach Klinsmann after the 2023 Asian Cup. The need to pay a large amount of compensation has caused KFA president Chung Mong-gyu to face a wave of criticism. Mr. Chung Mong-gyu announced that he would take responsibility by finding financial resources to pay the compensation to coach Klinsmann and the entire assistant team.
Meanwhile, the case of VFF and Coach Troussier is completely different. VFF also does not have to pay any other money to compensate Coach Troussier's assistants.
