More than 40 photos at the exhibition “Vietnam: A promising destination” have brought to the people of the Mexican capital as well as tourists a colorful and interesting journey of discovery about a powerful but also charming Vietnam.
Opening on August 29 local time, the exhibition was organized by the Mexico City government in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico at Paseo de la Reforma Avenue on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and within the framework of a series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1975-2025).
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, the representative of the local government, Ms. Rocío Lombera González - General Coordinator of International Cooperation of the Mexico City government - emphasized that through more than 40 vivid and colorful photos, the city's residents and tourists have the opportunity to discover more about the natural beauty, culture, people, as well as the socio -economic development achievements of Vietnam.
Held at Paseo de la Reforma, the iconic central avenue not only of Mexico City but also of Mexico, Ms. González, who is also a famous Mexican architect, said the photo exhibition “Vietnam: A Promising Destination” is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors during the period from August 29 to September 29.

Following architect Rocío Lombera González, speaking in front of dozens of guests including city leaders and international diplomatic delegations, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mexico Nguyen Van Hai, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government, expressed his thanks to the Mexico City government and the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs for supporting the Embassy in organizing this meaningful event.
According to Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai, held in the autumn days of August, when Vietnam is preparing to enter the 80th anniversary of its founding, the exhibition carries a meaningful message to Mexican friends about a beautiful Vietnam, rich in cultural traditions, peace-loving, hospitable, as well as a promising destination for trade and investment.
Ambassador Nguyen Van Hai expressed his hope that the exhibition will partly depict the beauty of nature, the daily life of the people, as well as the achievements in the renovation and development of Vietnam - a friendly country that always opens its arms to international friends.
According to the Ambassador, through the messages brought by the exhibition “Vietnam: A Promising Destination”, people of the two countries will have more opportunities to understand and become closer, thereby contributing to continuing to strengthen and deepen the solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
Meanwhile, having worked in Vietnam for many years, Mr. Fernando Gonzalez Saiffe - Director General of the Asia-Pacific Department, Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) - expressed his emotions after seeing the photos of Vietnam, the country he was attached to and loved. According to Mr. Saiffe, since the end of his term in Hanoi, Vietnam has witnessed many positive changes and outstanding achievements in socio-economic development.
Congratulating the Government and People of Vietnam on the 80th anniversary of National Day, the Director General of the Asia-Pacific Department of the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the past 8 decades have been a journey full of ups and downs and miracles for Vietnam. Today, Vietnam is not only a bright spot in economic growth but also a symbol of resilience and aspiration to rise up.

Previously, as part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the Vietnamese Embassy organized many meaningful events such as Vietnam Cultural Day, Vietnamese photo and cuisine exhibition at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), a seminar on 50 years of diplomatic relations at the Autonomous University Metropolitana (UAM), or promotional activities in Taxco city, Guerrero state.
In the coming time, the Embassy is expected to coordinate with local authorities to organize a series of events such as "Vietnam Week" at the Mexican Senate, a special publication commemorating 50 years of relations issued by the Matías Romero Diplomatic Academy, etc., thereby continuing to affirm the increasingly close friendship and cooperation./.
