Vinh Long needs more than 66,000 billion VND for medium-term public investment projects.

On the afternoon of August 21, comrade Ngo Chi Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 15th National Assembly Delegation, Vinh Long province chaired the meeting of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

The conference aimed to listen to the Provincial People's Committee report on the preparation of proposals to the Central Government on works and projects under the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2026-2030 of Vinh Long province and the plan and progress of implementing the coastal corridor.

At the conference, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee proposed to add a number of priority and most important projects and works, opening up space and creating momentum for the development of Vinh Long province in the period of 2026-2030, such as: National Highway 53, Long Ho - Ba Si section; National Highway 54 from Binh Tan district to Cau Ke district in the past; the former Tra Vinh city bypass; the route from Dai Ngai bridge to Co Chien bridge; the coastal route from Dai Ngai through Tra Vinh in the past - through Ben Tre in the past - to Cua Dai bridge (Co Chien 2 bridge, Cua Dai bridge with central budget capital); the National Highway 57 project through Vinh Long province in the past and the Lang The freshwater lake project, phase 2 and a number of landslide prevention and control projects in the three provinces in the past.

Accordingly, based on the principles, criteria and norms for allocating public investment capital for the 2026-2030 period, the People's Committee of Vinh Long province proposed that the Ministry of Finance synthesize and propose to the Prime Minister to consider supplementing central capital to support the province in implementing sectors and fields for the 2026-2030 period with a capital of VND 66,151.98 billion.

Of which, 18 key and urgent projects were implemented, especially projects to develop transport infrastructure, projects to overcome riverbank erosion, and adapt to climate change with a total capital of over 13,100 billion VND; supporting the implementation of 7 key projects with regional connectivity with a capital of 22,320 billion VND; 2 projects to ensure water security with a capital of 2,780 billion VND and 9 key projects with connectivity and synchronous completion of transport and irrigation infrastructure that have been directed by the Party and State with a capital demand of 27,929 billion VND.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Ngo Chi Cuong, Secretary of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, emphasized that determining the priority order of important works and projects in the medium-term period of 2026-2030 is of strategic significance, creating a foundation for the province to make a breakthrough in the coming time. He requested the Provincial People's Committee to urgently complete the summary report and send it to the Central Ministries and branches, clarifying projects that have a spillover effect and directly impact on socio-economic development and people's lives.

According to Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong, the 2026-2030 period will open up many new opportunities in terms of space and conditions for development. This will be an important driving force to promote the development of key industries and fields, apply science and technology, improve competitiveness, and at the same time create strong attraction for investors.
