Applying science and technology in aquaculture is the key solution to improve productivity, reduce pollution and achieve sustainable development.

Currently, large coconut growing areas such as Cau Ke, Dai Ngai, Tieu Can, Ba Tri... are developing strongly with an expected area of about 132,000 hectares by 2030, an output of 1.5 million tons, most of which are produced according to organic standards, meeting export requirements. Currently, the whole province has 30,355 hectares of industrial coconut (accounting for 25.25% of the coconut area), along with 156 fresh coconut growing areas with 11,012 hectares specializing in serving export to the Chinese market.

At the same time, the agricultural and environmental sector of Vinh Long is promoting restructuring towards green, organic and circular direction. The locality currently maintains a large herd of livestock and poultry with 560,000 cows, nearly 900,000 pigs, 25.6 million poultry, and egg production reaching 230 million eggs. The management of breeds, animal feed and vaccination is strictly controlled.

In aquaculture, the target by 2030 is to reach 531,900 tons of output, including 400,000 tons of aquaculture and 131,900 tons of exploitation. At the same time, strive to reduce post-harvest losses of key agricultural, forestry and fishery products by 0.5 - 1%/year.

The province also requires 100% of agricultural extension officers to be trained, 80% of farms and 50% of cooperatives to access waste treatment technology, contributing to spreading solutions such as biogas, composting and biofiltration to reduce pollution, create clean energy, produce organic fertilizers and protect the environment.
