After the administrative boundary merger, nearly 3,600 officials, civil servants, public employees and workers from the two former provinces of Tra Vinh and Ben Tre have moved to work in the administrative center of Vinh Long province. Therefore, the demand for social housing has increased sharply, especially concentrated in the central area of the province.
To meet this urgent need, in 2025, the province aims to build more than 2,400 social housing units; in the 2026-2030 period, develop about 36,000 more units.
Previously, the People's Council of Vinh Long province approved a Resolution on the mechanism to support the implementation of social housing construction investment projects in the area. Accordingly, in the next 5 years, the province will allocate more than 93 billion VND to support 20 projects, of which the provincial budget will cover 50% of the investment costs for technical infrastructure within the project scope (excluding infrastructure for business purposes).
