'Glory, Vietnam': A song of solidarity and national pride

MV "Glory, Oh Vietnam" - a new composition by Professor, Doctor, Hero of Labor Nguyen Anh Tri, directed by Duong Lan Huong has been officially released to the public.

The MV mobilized the participation of more than 30 singers and thousands of extras.

Released on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2, the MV is not only a work of art but also a tribute to the previous generation, a call for solidarity, arousing national pride and the aspiration to rise of the Vietnamese people in the new era.

When melody becomes community power

Glory, Oh Vietnam has a heroic, vibrant rhythm, concise lyrics, easy to understand and easy to remember. With only six short verses, the author has fully conveyed the national spirit, steadfast belief and aspiration to rise of every Vietnamese person.

The central message of the song is emphasized through the lyrics: Proud of our Fatherland - Glory, oh Vietnam !, a refrain that is both an affirmation and a sacred call, urging the community to turn towards the Fatherland.

Arranged by musicians Tran Thi Phuong Thao and Dang Manh Cuong, the song has a strong, harmonious and easily spread sound. When performed by a large group of artists such as Meritorious Artist To Nga, Meritorious Artist Luong Huy, Huyen Trang (Sao Mai), Viet Danh, the Medlatec choir and the Vietnamese Pearl Children's Club. The genre he chose is very correct and very accurate.

The history of Vietnamese revolutionary music has predecessors who have chosen to compose short, easy-to-listen, easy-to-understand, easy-to-sing songs, for example "Cung nhau di Hong binh" by musician Dinh Nhu, "Hanh quan xa" by musician Do Nhuan, "As if there was Uncle on the happy day of great victory" by musician Pham Tuyen...

Creative inspiration from love of country

Professor and Labor Hero Nguyen Anh Tri shared that he had cherished this song for many years. Initially, he wrote many versions but was not satisfied because they were too long or lacked inspiration.

Until one day, while taking a book from the shelf, a melody suddenly rang in his mind. Within 30 minutes, the song was completed like an explosion of pent-up emotions.

Interestingly, it is the simplicity that makes it powerful. The entire song has only six lines, the lyrics are simple but full of emotion.

The "oi" in the chorus is carefully chosen to be both a call and to evoke closeness and intimacy, so that each person who sings it feels like they are being called and urged to contribute to the Fatherland.

After composing the song, the author sent it to two familiar musicians to arrange. From then on, the artists enthusiastically participated, everyone sang with pride, considering it a happiness. It was this consensus that urged musician Nguyen Anh Tri to decide to invest in making a large-scale MV.

The team overcame many difficulties, unpredictable weather, a strict schedule, many soldiers and navy soldiers had to suddenly change their plans to carry out the mission. However, everyone tried their best.

Director Duong Lan Huong confided: “All the success and glory of the nation originates from solidarity. The MV wants to emphasize that only when the people are united, the country can be strong and develop.”

From children, students, to veterans, navy soldiers, border guards… all sang together, blending into the common image. It was that spirit that turned the MV into a “visual epic”, spreading strong national pride.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tri is known as a scientist and people's physician with many great contributions to the hematology and blood transfusion industry in Vietnam, and is also the founder of Medlatec Medical Group.

Along with his medical career, he was also the author of more than 220 songs, many of which praised the Fatherland and ignited patriotism.

He always said that he was not a professional musician, his compositions came from natural emotions, from love for the country, from memories of his hometown Quang Binh, rich in revolutionary tradition. It was that love that became the driving force that urged him to write Glory, Oh Vietnam .

Released on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the MV Vinh quang, oi Viet Nam carries a sacred meaning.
