The "secret" behind the series of viral photos on social networks

The most viral photos in the photography community and social networks in early September 2025 were, coincidentally, images expressing patriotism, national pride, close military-civilian ties, and the firm belief in entering an era of Vietnam's rise and strength.

“And if I were born again. I would like to be Vietnamese forever” - the lyrics of the song Forever Vietnamese (singer Trang Phap) describe a series of popular photos taken in Hanoi in the early autumn days of September 2025. Most of them are historical moments, contributing to arousing national pride, spreading the message of a bright future for the homeland and country.

What is more beautiful than flags?

A series of photos of Mrs. Tran Thi Nhung (Nghe An province), mother of soldier Tran Dinh Duc, waiting to see her son at the end of the parade on Ngoc Ha street (Hanoi) on September 2, taken by photographer TRUONG THANH TUNG, has become a hit online with nearly 100,000 likes.

“Only by experiencing the autumn rain or staying up all night with the people waiting to watch the parade can we see how beautiful our country is, how happy and patriotic our people are” - photographer Nam Anh (silver prize at the 2025 Young Photography Festival, C prize at the 2024 National Press Award) expressed his feelings after “17 days living with the country's historical moments” which just ended in early September with many beautiful images taken.

As the person who carried out the Photo Project “A80 - Fatherland in the heart”, photographer Vu Minh Quan affirmed to Dong Nai Weekend: “Those who hold cameras all try to take photos expressing emotional love for the country to share with the community”. The image of the red flag with yellow star flying on the streets, fluttering on mighty tanks... along with the joyful smiles of the sea of red-shirted people flooding all over social networks in the last week of August and the beginning of September 2025 shows that.

Photographer Nguyen Van Phuoc (stage name Kim Banh Troi Nuoc) said: He woke up at 4am on September 2 to take a photo series to commemorate "Independence Day Dawn" in Hanoi. "Putting on a shirt, putting on a camera, driving around the streets, going into alleys and then through familiar shops, flower stalls, rows of colorful flags covering every path, I wanted to show through the lens a peaceful capital in the early morning mist with the scent of new cinnamon rolls, the smell of flower markets, fruit markets, women carefully holding the national flag, female cleaners sweeping the streets clean, soldiers holding their sons... to look at the memorable images forever".

Photographer Nguyen Tien Anh Tuan - winner of the 2022 Golden Moment Special Prize for press photography organized by VNA - said: For the past month, he and many colleagues have accompanied pilots of the Vietnam People's Air Force (Air Defense - Air Force, Ministry of National Defense) on the A80 mission to capture "images that will never be repeated, because in 5 or 10 years, even the A100 will have many changes".

In a set of nearly 30 selected photos shared by Nguyen Tien Anh Tuan on September 3, the community enjoys images of squadrons of aircraft from helicopters to SU-30MK2 fighters flying with astonishing beauty. Some photos use panning techniques to capture planes taking off from the airport, creating a "absolutely cinematic" visual impression.

Meanwhile, photographer Vu Minh Quan, as well as most other photographers present in Hanoi, did not forget to focus on "hunting" for photos of the SU-30MK2 fighter jet dropping a bright heat trap in the sky of Hanoi on the morning of September 2.

Minh Quan said: “On a cloudy day, I tried to take photos of every corner as a thank you to the efforts of the air force soldiers who brought joy to the people. Closing an emotional A80 season that photographers like me have had for a long time. See you again A100!”.
