Patriotic emulation is the driving force for Gia Lai to develop.

And those who compete are the most patriotic.” In Gia Lai, the emulation movement has been comprehensively implemented, associated with the political tasks of each period, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.

Multiply the combined power

In the 5 years (2021 - 2025), patriotic emulation movements have been directed and effectively implemented by Party committees and authorities, attracting the participation of a large number of cadres, party members and people.

Typical movements include: The whole country joins hands to build new rural areas in the period of 2021 - 2030; Gia Lai for the poor - Leaving no one behind; Promoting the development of synchronous and modern infrastructure; Cadres, civil servants and public employees compete to implement office culture; The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation; Digital literacy...

In the field of science and technology, the innovation emulation movement has brought about many practical results. Up to now, the whole province has more than 3,600 trademarks with established industrial property rights, enhancing the value and affirming the brand for local agricultural and product products.

A profound humanitarian mark is the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025". With the spirit of "everyone contributes", the whole province has built more than 9,100 new houses, repaired over 3,400 houses, helping tens of thousands of poor households settle down. This is not only a material achievement but also a testament to the consensus, sharing, and spreading the spirit of solidarity in the community.

Many good models and practices have also been replicated, creating positive spillovers. Typically, the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas" with 370,000 m² of land donated by the people; the movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" has mobilized more than 87 billion VND, the Relief Fund mobilized more than 90 billion VND, and more than 700 billion VND for social security. Thereby, thousands of "Great Unity" houses have been built, thousands of poor households have more livelihoods to escape poverty sustainably.

The "Skilled Mass Mobilization" movement also contributed to strengthening people's trust, maintaining security and order and developing socio-economics. Many typical collectives and individuals emerged from the emulation movement such as: Department of Science and Technology with achievements in digital transformation; Tuy Phuoc Bac commune stands out in new rural construction; Doctor CKII Nguyen Thanh Triet, Director of Gia Lai Eye Hospital, was awarded the Asia- Pacific Outstanding Contribution to Blindness Prevention and Control Award in 2024.

In the production sector, farmer Nguyen Xuan Anh (Thuan Phong village, Hoi Son commune) with a comprehensive farm model earning about 600 million VND/year was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal.

In the field of education , teacher Vu Van Tung (Dinh Nup Primary and Secondary School, Po To commune) has founded many charity models such as "Zero-dong bread cabinet", "Giving livelihoods to poor students", spreading the spirit of charity, helping students in disadvantaged areas to go to school fully and have a warm and prosperous life.

Awaken the will to rise

Over the past 5 years, the province's economy has continued to grow well. Binh Dinh Province (old) has completed and exceeded 22/22 targets set by the Resolution of the 20th Party Congress; the average GRDP growth rate is 7 - 7.2%/year, the average GRDP per capita in 2025 is expected to reach over 96 million VND.

Gia Lai province (old) also achieved and exceeded 14/23 targets, of which export turnover increased by an average of 7.94%, the poverty rate decreased by an average of 1.54 - 2.01%/year, and trained labor reached 65%.

The new rural construction movement has achieved many outstanding results. Binh Dinh province (old) has 97/113 communes meeting new rural standards, 43 communes meeting advanced new rural standards, 8 communes meeting model new rural standards, 7 district-level units recognized as meeting new rural standards.

Gia Lai (old) has 110/218 communes meeting new rural standards, 5 district-level units recognized as meeting new rural standards. Along with that, the OCOP Program for the period 2021 - 2025, the 2 provinces recorded nearly 1,000 recognized products, contributing to increasing income and creating stable livelihoods for farmers.

In the fields of culture, education, health care, and social security, many programs and projects have been implemented synchronously, especially in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, helping to shorten the development gap between regions.

Entering the 2026 - 2030 period, the merger of the two provinces opens up a new development space, combining the advantages of the Central Highlands and the Central Coast. However, the new Gia Lai province also faces many difficulties and challenges such as unsustainable economic development, large development gaps between regions...

In the report summarizing the patriotic emulation movement and commendation work for the period 2021 - 2025 and the directions and tasks for the period 2026 - 2030, the Provincial People's Committee requested that sectors and localities thoroughly grasp Directive No. 41-CT/TW of the Politburo, in conjunction with implementing the Law on Emulation and Commendation and promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

The Provincial People's Committee leaders emphasized: The emulation movement must closely follow the province's socio-economic development goals, focusing on key tasks, especially science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction, infrastructure development and social security. Emulation must become a driving force to overcome difficulties, restore production and business, contributing to the successful completion of the goals for the 2025 - 2030 period.

At the same time, Party committees and authorities at all levels need to closely coordinate with the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations to launch a widespread emulation movement, discover, foster and replicate typical advanced examples, encourage creativity, dare to think, dare to do. The reward work must ensure publicity, transparency, timeliness, focusing on direct workers, remote and isolated areas.
