VN-Index "reluctantly" approaches the 1,280 point mark

Investors' cautious sentiment caused the main indices to fluctuate within a narrow range, accompanied by a decline in trading volume. Selling pressure suddenly increased at the end of the morning session, causing the VN-Index to reverse and decrease.

VHM, CTG, MWG, VCB codes had a negative impact, taking away a total of 1.5 points from the market. In terms of industry groups, the real estate group was under the strongest pressure to correct, for example VHM, VRE, BCM, IDC, KDH, NVL, PDR, DIG.

At the end of the morning session on August 28, VN-Index decreased by 2.64 points, equivalent to 0.21% to 1,277.92 points. The entire floor had 109 stocks increasing and 253 stocks decreasing.

Entering the afternoon session, buying power increased towards the end of the session along with the support of the banking and chemical groups, helping the VN-Index reverse and increase slightly.

At the end of the trading session on August 28, VN-Index increased by 0.88 points, equivalent to 0.07% to 1,281.44 points. The entire floor had 168 stocks increasing, 225 stocks decreasing, and 84 stocks remaining unchanged.

HNX-Index decreased 0.68 points to 238.23 points. The entire floor had 60 stocks increasing, 88 stocks decreasing and 81 stocks remaining unchanged. UPCoM-Index decreased 0.01 points to 94.13 points.

The chemical group led the market's increase today, notably the giant GVR, which increased by 2% to VND35,650/share and contributed 0.7 points. Some other codes in the industry also increased well, such as DGC, DPR, DRI, PHR, ABS, BFC, PGN, PCH, LTG. However, red also spread throughout the industry, for example, codes DCM, AAA, DPM, LAS, APH, RDP, DDV, TSC.

The banking group also recorded a fairly balanced green and red color, but the big players increased more strongly, helping the whole industry still increase by 0.13%. The prominent gainers were TCB, MSB, MBB, CTG,ACB , OCB, LPB, NAB, ABB, KLB, PGB; the rest mostly decreased points and some codes were unchanged.

Similarly, the food production group also improved when the codes DBC, MSN, VNM, HAG, VLC VHC, VOC, GPC, PAN all increased points, especially HNG also increased to the ceiling price of 4,350 VND/share.

Meanwhile, DIG code was under selling pressure, pushing the liquidity of this code twice as high as normal to 42 million units, after the Government Inspectorate announced the conclusion of the inspection related to the equitization and divestment of State capital. At the end of the session, this code decreased by 3.99% to 24,050 VND/share, at one point this code even decreased close to the floor level of 7%.

Other codes in the real estate group also suffered a decrease in points: DXG, VRE, VHM, CEO, TCH, VIC, NTL, KHG, HQC, EVG, KDH, SCR.

The total value of matched orders in today's session was VND18,077 billion, a slight increase compared to the previous day, of which the value of matched orders on the HoSE floor reached VND16,333 billion. In the VN30 group, liquidity reached VND7,248 billion.

Foreign investors continued to net sell for the 6th consecutive session with a value of 112 billion VND today, of which this group disbursed 1,398 billion VND and sold 1,510 billion VND.

The codes that were sold heavily were HPG 187 billion VND, HSG 74 billion VND, VHM 52 billion VND, VPB 40 billion VND, HDB 38 billion VND,... On the contrary, the codes that were mainly boughtwere FPT 139 billion VND, VNM 66 billion VND, SSI 49 billion VND, MSN 38 billion VND, PDR 37 billion VND,...
