Development investment capital in Hanoi increased by 9.5% in the first half of 2024

In the first 6 months of 2024, construction activities in Hanoi received attention, development investment capital increased by 9.5% over the same period last year; foreign investment attraction reached nearly 1.2 billion USD.

According to the Hanoi Statistics Office, in the first half of this year, construction activities in Hanoi have received much attention. Along with investment promotion, Hanoi has focused on directing and urging investors and construction units to increase resources and speed up the construction progress of key projects.

Accordingly, development investment capital in the city in the first 6 months of 2024 reached 208,800 billion VND, an increase of 9.5% over the same period in 2023. Of which, state capital reached 76,000 billion VND, an increase of 13.7%; non-state capital reached 118,400 billion VND, an increase of 7.5%; foreign direct investment reached 14.4 trillion VND, an increase of 5.3%.

In addition, the investment capital from the State budget managed by the locality in the first 6 months of this year reached 23,900 billion VND, up 25.3% over the same period last year and reaching 30.7% of the yearly plan. Of which, the State budget at the city level implemented 9,500 billion VND, up 15.1% and reaching 26.4%; the State budget at the district level implemented 13,200 billion VND, up 31.1% and reaching 34.4%; the State budget at the commune level implemented 1.2 billion VND, up 62.6% and reaching 35.2%.

In the first 6 months of 2024, Hanoi attracted 1,165 million USD in FDI capital. Of which, 120 new projects were registered with a capital of 1,036 million USD; 78 projects increased their investment capital by 55 million USD; 104 foreign investors contributed capital and bought shares, reaching 74 million USD.

In 2024, Hanoi will have 226 concentrated public investment projects for basic construction. Of which, there are 155 transitional projects with an investment of VND 205,500 billion (the capital disbursement plan for 2024 is VND 24,400 billion); 71 new projects will start construction this year with a total investment of VND 7,200 billion (the capital disbursement plan for the year is VND 1,100 billion).

The transport sector has 58 projects, accounting for 19.5% of the capital plan. Up to now, key projects and works in the city are being urgently constructed, completing items as planned.
