On the afternoon of September 16, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ha Tinh held a conference to deploy the Winter Crop Production Project in 2025. Attending were representatives of departments, branches and localities.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the total area of some main annual crops in the 2024 winter crop is 12,149 hectares, reaching 98.5% of the plan; the output is 90,322 tons, reaching 82% of the plan. Of which, vegetables of all kinds are 4,936 hectares, reaching 106.5% of the plan; the average yield is 64.46 quintals/ha; the output is 31,819 tons, reaching 95% of the plan. The total area of citrus fruit trees in the province is 12,960 hectares, of which the area for products is 11,196 hectares.
In the 2025 Winter crop, the whole province strives to have a total planting area of 12,399 hectares of short-term crops (an increase of 250 hectares compared to the production results of the 2024 Winter crop); newly plant 27 hectares of oranges and 8.5 hectares of Phuc Trach grapefruit.

According to the forecast of the Ha Tinh Province Hydrometeorological Station, this year's cold air is likely to operate early and gradually strengthen from around October 2025, with the first severe cold spell forecast to occur around late November to early December. Winter crop production in 2025 is likely to be affected by early season floods and severe cold in the final stage of the season.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture recommends that localities and people need to be proactive and flexible in arranging crop seasons and crop structures to avoid natural disasters, limit risks and ensure safety and efficiency of winter crop production.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hai - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment emphasized that localities need to focus on directing and striving to achieve the highest production level in terms of area, productivity and output. Ensure full coverage and maximum expansion of the production area, with suitable crops; change the crop structure on rice land in areas with good drainage conditions to maximize the winter crop area and increase the land use coefficient.

Based on the cropping season and growing time of the varieties, based on the practical conditions of each locality, each region and weather developments, arrange suitable planting seasons, safe production, "sure" and effective.
Focus on applying scientific and technical advances to winter crop production such as greenhouses and net houses in vegetable and flower production; introducing new varieties with high productivity, quality, and resistance to pests and diseases into production; applying VietGAP and organic production standards.
This year's rainy and stormy season is forecast to come earlier and end later than average, so vegetable production should be arranged in greenhouses and greenhouses, and seedling cultivation is encouraged.
Localities, based on the potential and advantages of each region, organize the construction of new production models in the direction of introducing new crops with high economic value, synchronously applying technical advances to improve efficiency per unit of cultivated area and encourage linkages with businesses, especially production models that meet organic standards to gradually expand in the coming time.
