The total natural area of the region accounts for 28.9% of the country's area, with a coastline of nearly 1,800 km, accounting for more than 55% of the country's coastline (3,260 km) and many deep-water ports, important islands, island clusters and archipelagos such as Hoang Sa, Truong Sa, Ly Son, Cu Lao Cham...

Quy Nhon Port (Binh Dinh), the gateway to the sea of the Central Highlands provinces

Due to its geographical characteristics, the Central region is always the place that suffers from natural disasters, from scorching sun to continuous storms. Therefore, despite the advantages of the marine economy and the hard-working people of the Central region, the Central region is still a place with many difficulties.

Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo has set the goal by 2030, with a vision to 2045, to build and develop this area into a land of dynamic, fast and sustainable development, strong in marine economy; with synchronous and modern socio-economic infrastructure, high resilience to natural disasters, epidemics and effective adaptation to climate change.

With Resolution 26 of the Politburo , the Central coastal provinces are reaching out to the sea, in which developing the marine economy is a breakthrough, while closely connecting with the Central Highlands provinces.

The special issue celebrating Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21) is an annual publication of Thanh Nien Newspaper. In this publication, we not only share the "post-production" stories, memories during the working process of Thanh Nien reporters in the Central Highlands provinces, but also tell the stories of each locality, each business, each person in the effort to reach out to the ocean, making the Central strip of land become rich and strong.

We would like to respectfully introduce to our readers!
