Quy Mong Commune proactively responds to storm No. 9 (super storm Ragasa)

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 9 approaching the mainland, on the morning of September 24, leaders of Quy Mong commune went down to the villages to inspect and direct disaster response work.

According to statistics, Quy Mong commune currently has 6 traffic points at risk of landslides; 554 households with more than 2,300 people are facing the risk of landslides, flooding, and flash floods; 9 offices are at risk of being affected and 3 serious landslides in Kien Lao and Dong Song villages.

To proactively respond to storm No. 9, Quy Mong commune leaders requested villages to seriously implement the "four on-the-spot" motto, prioritizing the protection of human lives and minimizing property damage; households in high-risk areas proactively evacuate to safety.

Quy Mong Commune has directed 17 construction projects to temporarily stop construction and move machinery and equipment to safe places. Rescue forces, vehicles, and essential supplies and necessities have been prepared to support the people when necessary. At the same time, the commune's functional forces urgently conducted a review and strengthened the safety of lakes, dams, communication systems, power grids and important infrastructure works such as schools and medical stations.
