Contribute to building harmonious and progressive labor relations

The Provincial Federation of Labor currently has 587 grassroots unions with over 40,500 members. Contributing to building a strong union organization, unions at all levels in the province have overcome difficulties, performed well the task of developing union members and introducing outstanding union members to the Party for consideration and admission.

Carrying out the task of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions, the Provincial Federation of Labor has many innovations in its operating methods in the direction of "Where there are workers, there is a union organization" and "Towards the grassroots and union members".

Every year, the Provincial Federation of Labor issues plans, assigns targets, and focuses on organizing propaganda and mobilization activities to develop union members and establish grassroots unions.

However, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in the province still faces many difficulties. Most enterprises in the province are mainly small and medium-sized enterprises, operating in a decentralized manner, employing few workers and often changing. Workers are not yet fully aware of the role of trade unions, so they are still hesitant and do not want to join trade unions. Some employers are not aware of the importance and have not created favorable conditions for establishing grassroots unions, so they find every reason to delay the establishment of trade unions.

Leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation presented the decision and flowers to congratulate the establishment of Sa Pa Ward Trade Union.

Regarding the work of developing party members who are union members, the province currently has 203 enterprises with party organizations; 384 enterprises have party members but do not have party organizations. The number of enterprises with party organizations is still small, so the introduction of outstanding union members for the party to consider is limited.

Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation - Nguyen Chuong Phat, said: To overcome the above difficulties, the Provincial Labor Federation issued an Action Program to implement Resolution No. 06/NQ-BCH, dated August 27, 2024 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on "Promoting the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions in non-state enterprises by 2028, with a vision to 2033". The Provincial Labor Federation advises and seriously implements the Party's directives and resolutions, and legal documents on the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions in enterprises in the province.

In addition, trade unions at all levels shall effectively implement the coordination regulations; proactively coordinate with competent authorities to strengthen inspection and supervision of the implementation of regimes and policies for employees at enterprises; propose handling of enterprises and units that do not seriously implement regimes and policies for employees and obstruct the establishment of grassroots trade unions according to the provisions of the Labor Code.

Grassroots trade unions do a good job of taking care of the lives of union members and workers with the motto "Where there are union members, there is a trade union organization".

The Provincial Federation of Labor directs all levels of trade unions to perform well the core political task of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and employees through practical activities; coordinating to build harmonious and progressive labor relations for the common development of enterprises. From there, employees and employers fully and correctly perceive the role, responsibility and activities of trade union organizations.

In addition, trade unions at all levels also strengthen training, fostering, and support for newly established grassroots trade unions; commend and reward collectives and individuals who achieve and exceed targets for union member development and establishment of grassroots trade unions; diversify forms of propaganda, mobilization, and outreach to carry out the work of union member development and establishment of grassroots trade unions in enterprises.

In the past 9 months, the whole province admitted 2,574 new union members; 223 outstanding union members were admitted to the Party.

The establishment of grassroots unions in enterprises contributes to building harmonious and progressive labor relations.

In the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to strengthen its direction and urge the assignment of specific targets to each grassroots union on party development, thereby having specific plans, actively training and introducing outstanding masses to request to participate in training classes for party admission in order to create a source for party member development; strive to have at least 30% of grassroots unions in enterprises introduce at least 1 outstanding union member each year for the Party Committee to consider training and admitting to the Party. Continue to promote the development of union members, establish grassroots unions, contribute to building a strong union organization, well perform assigned political tasks and actively participate in Party building work.
