
In the entire Thang An commune, 13/19 villages are located in low-lying areas, along the Truong Giang River, with a high risk of flooding when heavy rains continue. According to statistics, there are 172 people who need to be evacuated when the flood is level 2 or higher, of which 141 people are relocated in groups and 31 people are relocated in a concentrated manner.
At group 14, Tra Doa II village, an area that is often deeply flooded, commune leaders directly visited each household to inspect, encourage and guide response measures.
Local people said they had proactively placed their properties high and prepared small boats to move when the water level rose. However, local authorities reminded people not to be subjective, to regularly monitor water levels and weather developments, and to be ready to evacuate to a safe place in case of bad situations, with the motto "ensuring life safety is paramount".

On October 21, the Military Command of Thang An Commune coordinated with the SOS 117 Volunteer Group to give more than 40 life jackets to households in riverside areas at risk of deep flooding.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Vinh, Head of Binh Khuong village, said that the village has reviewed and counted households at risk of flooding and proactively planned to evacuate when the water rises.
According to the leaders of Thang An commune, up to now, all villages in the area have completed activating civil defense teams; fully prepared locations, supplies, food, medicine, ready to respond to all natural disaster situations.
Authorities advise people to closely monitor weather forecasts and follow local instructions.
