Building Hue City to develop while preserving cultural heritage

One of the major programs implemented during the past term was to relocate nearly 5,000 households from the upper citadel of Hue. This remarkable result not only restored the integrity of the world cultural heritage, but also helped people have a stable and civilized life.

Over the past 5 years, the city Party Committee has concretized the Central Resolution and Party Congress Resolution into many urban development mechanisms and policies, thereby expanding the city's space 5 times more than before, creating room for economic development, services, and creative industries.

From an ancient city, Hue is opening its doors to a new journey with unique mechanisms that are applied creatively and flexibly.

This initiative has brought about clear results: average economic growth of 7.54%/year, economic size increased 1.7 times, GRDP per capita in 2025 reached about 3,200 USD.

"The past term was a period marked by strong solidarity and unity; high political determination; strong spirit of action; creative and flexible application of the Central's specific mechanisms and policies; and the determination and synchronization of the entire political system and people in building and developing Hue City," said Hue City Party Secretary Le Truong Luu.

Along with economic development, the Party Committee, government and people of Hue City are always aware of the work of preserving, conserving and promoting cultural heritage values ​​in the ancient capital.

Many economic and tourism development programs associated with heritage conservation and environmental landscape protection are being implemented.

"In the spirit of the 17th City Party Congress, the major program content has been determined to be cultural development to continue maintaining Hue City on the basis of preserving and promoting the value of the ancient capital's relics and Hue's cultural identity," said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh (Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee).
