Chinese technology company Xiaomi is ready to enter the tri-fold screen smartphone market with two new products, competing with rival Huawei.

Technology site SmartPrix quoted sources close to Xiaomi as saying that the Chinese technology company is ready to launch two triple-folding screen smartphones in the near future.

Xiaomi's first tri-fold screen smartphone will be called Zhuque, expected to launch in early 2025. Not only does it have a striking design, Zhuque also attracts attention by not being equipped with any physical buttons, making the product Xiaomi's first buttonless smartphone.

Zhuque is not only Xiaomi's first triple-fold screen smartphone, but is also considered a foundation product for the Chinese technology company to continue launching other triple-fold screen smartphones.

In addition to Zhuque, Xiaomi is also developing another tri-folding smartphone, but the product has no name yet and is codenamed "26013VP46C". This smartphone is likely to be launched by Xiaomi in late 2025 or early 2026.

However, sources from SmartPrix said that Xiaomi could bring Zhuque to the international market, while the tri-fold screen smartphone codenamed "26013VP46C" will only be a product exclusively for the Chinese market.

Xiaomi's tri-folding smartphone models are still in development and have not been completed yet. Xiaomi will likely rely on the market's reaction to Huawei's Mate XT smartphone to decide whether to commercialize its product or not.

Although several companies have revealed their own ideas for a triple-folding smartphone, Huawei is currently the only one to launch a triple-folding smartphone called the Mate XT on the consumer market. The Mate XT has already caused a "fever" in the Chinese market, with the first batch of products sold out in just a few seconds.

In addition to Xiaomi, a number of other technology companies have also revealed their intention to enter the triple-folding screen smartphone market, including Honor, OnePlus/Oppo... These are all companies that have done well in the double-folding screen smartphone segment.
