This is not only the result of proactive technological innovation from the enterprise but also thanks to the timely guidance and support of the local agricultural sector, opening up a sustainable direction for Lam Dong agricultural products in the international market.

In Lac Duong commune, Truong Phuc Farm Company Limited, directed by Mr. To Quang Dung, is one of the leading units in producing and exporting lettuce to the Korean market.

With an area of over 3 hectares of hydroponic vegetables, of which 2 hectares are specialized in lettuce, the farm has applied a continuous crop rotation process, achieving 11-12 crops per year. Thanks to the advantage of a temperate climate, the average lettuce yield reaches 2.5-4 tons/1,000 m², with some crops exceeding 4 tons, enough to meet the requirements of large export output.

Aiming at the international market since 2015, Truong Phuc Company has gradually expanded its scale. If in 2016, the export output only stopped at more than 10 tons, by 2025, the enterprise had exported about 180 tons, equivalent to 30 20-foot containers.
With a stable selling price of 2.3 USD/kg, after deducting costs, the average profit reached 33,000 VND/kg, bringing in revenue of more than 4.5 billion VND.

To be able to export lettuce shipments to Korea - one of the markets with strict inspection standards, businesses not only focus on the production process but also have to invest heavily in post-harvest preservation technology.

The Korean side has sent many teams of experts to the farm to survey, collect soil, water and vegetable samples for analysis. Only when the results meet safety standards, the process of planting, caring, harvesting, processing and packaging will be implemented, under the constant supervision of the partner.

At the same time, Truong Phuc Company has invested in a new technology refrigeration system, shortening the processing time in cold storage from 20 hours to only 2 hours. In particular, the cross-center refrigeration technology helps vegetables stay fresh throughout the transportation process, which lasts from 10 to 12 days. Thanks to that, the products when reaching Korean consumers still maintain the same quality as when they were just harvested.

Not stopping there, each shipment before export is sampled and strictly inspected by the Vietnamese plant quarantine agency, ensuring that there are no insects or pests. These control steps have created great prestige for the Lac Duong lettuce brand, helping the business maintain stability in a demanding market.

“We identify agricultural product export as a long-term, sustainable path, so we must build a systematic production foundation, apply modern technology; at the same time, focus on enhancing reputation with partners. This is the secret to helping Truong Phuc lettuce maintain a stable position in the Korean market,” Mr. Dung shared.

Lam Dong province currently has 11 enterprises exporting vegetables and fruits to many countries. In August 2025 alone, the province's export turnover of vegetables and fruits reached 19.6 million USD; the cumulative figure for the first 8 months of the year reached nearly 98 million USD, far exceeding the 2025 plan of 82.76 million USD.

The main export markets of Lam Dong agricultural products are still concentrated in the East Asia region, including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), Singapore, and Thailand. These are nearby markets with high demand and strict quality requirements. This has pushed local businesses to constantly improve technology and enhance production capacity.

To ensure sustainable exports, Lam Dong province has also implemented a project to develop concentrated safe vegetable production areas, linked with traceability and deep processing until 2030. The goal is that by the end of the period, the province's safe vegetable export turnover will reach more than 100 million USD/year. This is considered an important foundation to help local businesses continue to expand their markets.

After success in Korea, many Lam Dong enterprises are aiming to conquer higher-end markets such as Japan and Europe. To do this, in addition to maintaining stable product quality, enterprises need to continue investing in modern preservation technology, diversifying hydroponic vegetable varieties, and improving competitiveness.

Mr. To Quang Dung affirmed: “Meeting the requirements of demanding countries is the key to affirming the position of Vietnamese agricultural products on the export map. We will continue to expand our scale and cooperate with many partners, not only in Korea but also towards more demanding markets.”
The stability and good growth of lettuce exports to Korea is a testament to the right development of the high-tech agriculture sector in Lam Dong. This is not only the success story of a single enterprise but also the common result of the coordination between enterprises - farmers - local authorities.
In the context of deep integration, these steady steps will continue to help Lam Dong agricultural products, especially safe vegetables, enhance their brands, expand their markets and contribute positively to the economic growth of Lam Dong province.
