100 businesses owe more than 7,861 billion VND in taxes

On August 8, Mr. Thai Minh Giao, Deputy Director in charge of the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, said that the unit has just completed a list of 100 enterprises with tax debts totaling VND7,861 billion. The majority of this debt is from enterprises related to the real estate sector.

Topping the list of tax arrears is Golden Hill Investment JSC with nearly 1,300 billion VND. Next is Song Tien Real Estate Development JSC, with a debt of more than 1,000 billion VND.

Enterprises with tax debts ranging from over 400 billion VND to under 1,000 billion VND include: Housing Development and Trading Joint Stock Company (446 billion VND); Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden (616 billion VND); Hung Thinh Land Joint Stock Company (556 billion VND)...

The group of enterprises with tax debt from 100 billion VND to 300 billion VND has 5 enterprises. The remaining enterprises have the lowest debt level of 9.8 billion VND and the highest debt level of over 91 billion VND.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, in the first 6 months of 2023, the department issued more than 45,000 enforcement decisions, equivalent to VND 185,470 billion in tax debt, recovering more than VND 12,700 billion. Of which, VND 5,685 billion in tax debt in 2022 and VND 7,024 billion in new debt arising in 2023.

The Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department has assigned the target of tax collection and debt settlement in 2023 to its affiliated units. At the same time, it will continue to review and standardize debt data, and synchronously deploy measures to urge collection and enforce tax debt.
