The 50th anniversary celebration of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) was solemnly and successfully held in Ho Chi Minh City, once again affirming the great historical significance and stature of the Great Spring Victory of 1975 in the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people.
As General Secretary To Lam stated: “Years will pass, but the victory of our people in the resistance war against the US to save the country will forever be recorded in the history of the nation as a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, a victory of justice, a victory of Vietnamese mettle, spirit and intelligence; of ardent patriotism, aspiration for independence, freedom and national unification, with the truth that "Vietnam is one, the Vietnamese people are one," is a milestone affirming that our entire Party, people and army have realized Uncle Ho's most earnest wishes and instructions, completing the cause of completely liberating the South, unifying the country, and North and South reuniting as one family."
The Central Steering Committee celebrates the country's major holidays and important historical events in the three years 2023-2025 and the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City respectfully send their deep thanks to the leaders and former leaders of the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front; leaders of political parties, states, governments and people of fraternal countries, international organizations; revolutionary elders, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, Labor Heroes, generals, officers, soldiers, veterans, militia, guerrillas, youth volunteers, frontline workers, families of martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, people with meritorious services to the country, generations of cadres and soldiers who have devoted and sacrificed for the cause of national liberation and national reunification.
The Organizing Committee also sends its thanks to our compatriots and soldiers nationwide and overseas Vietnamese; central and provincial departments, agencies, organizations; generals, officers, soldiers of the People's Army, People's Public Security, militia and self-defense forces, sectors and sectors that participated in the parades; parade teams from fraternal countries: China, Laos, Cambodia; experts, scientists, artists, program designers and producers; businesses, sponsors, reporters, editors, technicians of domestic and international press and publishing agencies.
Officers, soldiers of the armed forces, civil servants, public employees, workers of agencies, units, socio-political organizations; union members, volunteers, children and teenagers; especially the people of Ho Chi Minh City participated in the celebration activities and contributed very positively and effectively to the outstanding success of the activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, spreading meaningful messages to friends around the world and bringing deep emotions and pride to compatriots, officers and soldiers across the country.
During the preparation and implementation of the ceremony activities, it is inevitable that there will be inconveniences, unintentional errors and omissions. The Organizing Committee respectfully hopes for the forgiveness and sympathy of delegates, compatriots, comrades, and guests from near and far, especially people in the city center area.
