Notably, there are 3 foreign scientists but registered their work address in Vietnam, including 2 people at Duy Tan University and 1 person at Ton Duc Thang University.

In the ranking of the world’s 100,000 most influential scientists in 2025, there are 73 scientists of Vietnamese nationality. If including scientists working in Vietnam, the number is 97. Among the 25 foreigners, many are currently working at schools such as Duy Tan University, Ton Duc Thang University, etc.

The Influential 100,000 ranking is based on the following scientific impact indicators: total citations (excluding self-citations), Hirsch h-index, Schreiber hm-index, citations for articles as single author, first author, corresponding author and last author.

The list is classified into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields according to the Science-Metrix classification standard.
