Among Us launches 3D version without VR glasses

According to TechSpot , developer Innersloth has just announced Among Us 3D , a new version of the popular game, offering a first-person experience instead of the top-down form of the original. Unlike Among Us VR released in 2022, this version will not require virtual reality (VR) glasses but will allow players to control their characters with a keyboard and mouse. Besides the change in perspective, the game will come with many new content such as missions, decorative items, limited in-game events and a completely new game mode.

Another major change is the introduction of the Stardust currency, which is used to purchase cosmetic items. However, Innersloth claims that this currency does not affect the game's core game modes or features. Despite the improvements, Among Us 3D will not have cross-play with the traditional Among Us . The two versions will be completely separate, but Among Us 3D will support co-play with Among Us VR , and the VR version will also be renamed to reflect this compatibility. This allows Steam PC players to join gamers using VR devices such as Meta Quest, Steam VR, PlayStation VR 2, and PICO.

A limited demo of Among Us 3D will be available on PC during the Steam Next Fest event from February 24 to March 3. This test is only for players 16 years and older and will not have the full content of the official version.

In Vietnam, Among Us has quickly become a phenomenon since 2020. The game has attracted the attention of many gamers and celebrities, including top streamers such as Do Mixi, ViruSs or singer Khoi My. Live broadcasts with millions of views have contributed to the game's spread in the Vietnamese gaming community. The popularity of Among Us can be explained by its simple graphics, light capacity for easy access, along with gameplay that requires tactical thinking and reasoning, creating attractive mind games. Despite its great success, Among Us still faces some limitations in Vietnam such as not supporting Vietnamese and sometimes having problems with overloaded servers. However, these factors do not reduce the appeal of the game in the gaming community, especially when the upcoming 3D version promises to bring a new experience to players.
