At the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung, leaders of central ministries, branches, An Giang province, investors and contractors performed the groundbreaking ceremony, launching 10 projects serving the APEC 2027 Summit Week, including: Provincial Road DT.975 (section from DT.973 - Phu Quoc Airport - DT.975 - DT.973), with a length of 19.26km, total investment of 2,500 billion VND; Cua Can lake with a scale of 7.5 million ^m3 , total investment of 1,026 billion VND; undergrounding technical infrastructure in Duong Dong area, total investment of 550 billion VND; undergrounding technical infrastructure in An Thoi area, total investment of 420 billion VND; investment in technical infrastructure, digital transformation to build a Smart Monitoring and Operation Center for comprehensive management of Phu Quoc city, total investment of 500 billion VND.

Construction of embankment and site leveling for the construction of the APEC Conference Center and functional works with a leveling project scale of 57 hectares; 2,251m long protective embankment, total investment of 1,400 billion VND; investment in construction of An Thoi Resettlement Area with a scale of 23.87 hectares, total investment of 1,632 billion VND; Bai Bon Waste Treatment Area, with a capacity of 250 tons/day, total investment of 382 billion VND; An Thoi Solid Waste Treatment Plant, with a capacity of 110 tons/day, total investment of 140 billion VND; Cua Can Clean Water Plant, with a capacity of ^49,500m3 /day and night, total investment of 556 billion VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ngo Cong Thuc said: The groundbreaking ceremony for projects and works serving the APEC 2027 Summit Week, welcoming the 1st An Giang Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030, towards the 14th National Party Congress is not only an event marking the beginning of key projects, but also a vivid demonstration of An Giang province's aspiration to rise up, towards a prosperous, sustainable and internationally integrated future.

“With its responsibility, the People's Committee of An Giang province commits to organizing and implementing projects serving the APEC 2027 Summit Week in the most positive and urgent spirit, in accordance with legal regulations. Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized: The groundbreaking and launching of 10 key projects, part of the system of 21 key infrastructure projects serving the APEC 2027 Summit Week, are modern and synchronous infrastructure works, not only meeting the needs of the APEC Conference, but also contributing to promoting the long-term development of the locality and the country.

Thereby, the Deputy Prime Minister commended the proactiveness, responsibility, and drastic participation of ministries, branches, and An Giang province at present, and Kien Giang province in the past, in focusing on solving and removing difficulties and obstacles in practice and speeding up the completion of administrative procedures for the projects that started and launched today. At the same time, he acknowledged and commended the people in the project implementation areas for their consensus and support for the project implementation policy and site clearance work.

In order for the projects to be completed safely, with quality, technique, aesthetics and on schedule, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested that ministries, branches, agencies and units, especially An Giang province, must focus their efforts and thoroughly grasp the spirit of "what they say is what they do, what they commit to is what they must do"; strive to complete projects 3-6 months ahead of schedule, ensuring the best quality, creating the most beautiful and impressive space of Vietnam and Phu Quoc in the eyes of international friends.

Actively coordinate to resolve problems within authority, promptly report to competent authorities on issues beyond authority. Organize and implement tasks openly and transparently, absolutely not allowing negativity, corruption, loss, waste, group interests to occur and closely monitor within authority. Central ministries and branches strengthen inspection and supervision; proactively continue to support and accompany An Giang People's Committee to remove difficulties and problems in cases arising in practice.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung requested An Giang province to regularly inspect and review the procedures for implementing bidding packages, works and projects to ensure compliance with legal regulations. Proactively coordinate between agencies and units, resolve arising problems at the grassroots level to speed up work progress; promptly report to competent authorities on issues beyond their authority.

Urgently complete the necessary investment procedures according to legal regulations for the remaining projects, strive to complete the construction of all projects in October 2020. Maintain security, order, social safety and political stability in the area, especially in the areas where the projects pass through; do not delay progress, affecting the organization of the APEC 2027 Conference. Pay attention to and take care of people's lives, resettlement work, support production stabilization, ensure livelihoods for people in the new place, have new jobs equal to and better than the old place.

Investors, project owners, supervisory consultants and contractors must promote the highest sense of responsibility, strictly comply with legal regulations on project investment management; promptly implement construction to ensure safety, quality and efficiency, strive to complete ahead of schedule, and soon put works and projects into operation and use.

Socio-political organizations, unions, people, especially people affected by the projects, continue to support, unite, and create favorable conditions for project implementation; actively participate in monitoring and social criticism so that the project is completed on time and ahead of schedule, and avoid negativity and waste...
