Apple announces iPhone Air with ultra-thin design

Apple has just officially introduced the iPhone Air with a thickness of only 5.6 mm, making the device the thinnest smartphone in the company's history.

In a statement at the Awe Dropping event held in the early morning of September 10 (Vietnam time), CEO Tim Cook affirmed that the iPhone Air brings "professional performance in a thin and light design". This model replaces the iPhone Plus line and is considered Apple's answer to Samsung's super-thin Galaxy S25 Edge.

The iPhone Air features a 6.5-inch ProMotion display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. According to Apple, this is the "most durable" design ever, with a ceramic shell surrounding a titanium frame on both sides.

The new product comes with the A19 Pro chip, which is said to be the most powerful iPhone yet, combined with the new Apple-made C1x modem for twice the speed of the previous generation. In addition, the iPhone Air is also equipped with the new N1 chip, supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread features.

Despite its thin and light design, Apple promises the iPhone Air will have "all-day" battery life, with up to 40 hours of video playback. To optimize battery capacity, the product only supports eSIM. Adaptive Power mode in iOS 26 also helps improve battery life.

In terms of camera, the iPhone Air has a single 48 MP camera like the iPhone 16e, combined with an improved Photonic Engine image processor for superior shooting quality. In particular, users can both take selfie videos and record what happens in front of them thanks to the Dual Capture Video feature. On the front of the device is an 18 MP selfie camera that supports the Center Stage feature, allowing everyone to automatically fit into the frame without having to rotate the phone.

The iPhone Air is available in black, white, beige, and light blue. Apple also introduced a number of new accessories for the iPhone Air, including an ultra-thin clear case and a reinforced polycarbonate case, both of which come with new crossbody straps.
