Ms. Harris is the top choice of the Democrats for the 2028 US presidential election.

The results of a newly released survey show that despite her failure in the recent White House race, US Vice President Kamala Harris is the top choice of Democrats for the 2028 election.

According to a survey conducted by Puck News/Echelon Insights, 41% of likely Democratic voters would vote for Ms. Harris as their party's nominee in 2028. The other candidates are California Governor Gavin Newsom, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg. About 16% are unsure and about 1% want another candidate.

Meanwhile, on the Republican side, voters chose Vice President-elect James Vance as the leading candidate for the primary election with 37%. Other candidates include former 2024 presidential candidates Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Ted Cruz, and Governor Marco Rubio, who was chosen by President-elect Donald Trump to be US Secretary of State.

The survey was conducted from November 14 to November 18 on more than 1,000 voters with a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
