On the morning of February 9, at Tay Yen Tu spiritual and ecological tourist area (Son Dong district), the People's Committee of Bac Giang province solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Cultural - Tourism Week and the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival 2025 with the theme "Sacred Tay Yen Tu".

Attending the opening ceremony were comrades of the Party Central Committee: Nguyen Van Hung - Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Nguyen Van Gau - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. Also attending were comrades: Nguyen Thi Huong - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Viet Oanh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Delegates of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) included Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet - Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Council of the VBS; representatives of leaders of a number of central, provincial and municipal agencies, ministries and branches; former comrades of the Party Central Committee, former leaders of Bac Giang province through the periods; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches, agencies, organizations, localities in the province, the Executive Board of the VBS in Bac Giang province; units, business community and a large number of people and tourists from all over the country.

In his opening speech, Mr. Mai Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Culture - Tourism Week 2025 emphasized that Bac Giang - a land of spiritual land and talented people, possesses a unique blend of traditional Kinh Bac culture and the cultural identity of the Northern midlands and mountains. Rich historical and cultural heritages have become a great resource to promote tourism development and spiritual life. The province has over 2,000 historical and cultural relics, including 06 special national relics. Intangible cultural heritages such as Quan Ho folk songs, Ca Tru, the practice of worshipping the Mother Goddess of the Three Realms and Then practice have also been honored by UNESCO, affirming the diverse cultural values of Bac Giang in the international arena. In addition, the province also owns valuable nature reserves such as Khe Ro and Tay Yen Tu primeval forests, where majestic beauty and unique biodiversity converge. Bac Giang province has closely coordinated with Quang Ninh and Hai Duong provinces to complete the dossier to submit to UNESCO to propose recognizing the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son and Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex as a world heritage.
He also said that the Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival - an annual event since 2019 - has become a bridge between Truc Lam Buddhist teachings and modern life, spreading the idea of "for the nation, for all living beings". This is not only a spiritual festival but also an opportunity for each person to contemplate a lifestyle in harmony with nature, as taught by Buddha King Tran Nhan Tong.
This year's Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival and Bac Giang Province Culture - Tourism Week are held with 13 main activities. The highlights of the event are the procession of the Three Patriarchs' Tablets from Vinh Nghiem Pagoda to Ha Tay Yen Tu Pagoda; the open bicycle race named "Journey following the footsteps of the Buddha King"; the Forest Opening Festival in Huong Son, Lang Giang District; the Sloong Hao Singing Festival in Tan Son, Luc Ngan District; and the Festival of practicing the worship of the Mother Goddesses of the Three Palaces at Suoi Mo Temple, Luc Nam District. Visitors will be immersed in a magical journey with solemn tablet processions, immersing themselves in sweet folk songs amidst the majestic mountain and forest scenery. The festivals, art exhibitions and diverse cultural activities not only bring unique experiences but also honor the typical cultural values of Bac Giang land.

At the opening ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Quyet - Vice President of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha wished a happy new year; Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Gau beat the drum to open the festival. This was followed by a ceremony to pray for national peace and prosperity.


Also at the ceremony, delegates and all visitors and people enjoyed the opening performance and a special art program with the theme "Sacred West Yen Tu". The art program included 3 chapters: Legend of the sacred land - Origin of Truc Lam Zen and the path of propagating Buddhism; Bac Giang - Land of culture; Bac Giang - Potential, shining. The special and attractive art program with the participation of artists and actors: Singer Tung Duong, Lo Thuy, Trung Sy, Thu Lan, Hoang Hai, Thoi Gian Group, Phuong Nam Group; Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theater; Dong Do Dance Group... brought the works: On the top of Phu Van, Spiritual road, Spring colors of Tay Yen Tu... which left a deep impression on the audience.
