Bac Ninh: Strengthening guarding and ensuring the safety of the dike system

BAC NINH - Currently, the water level of rivers in Bac Ninh province has peaked and is slowly decreasing. To ensure the safety of the dike system in the province, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of communes and wards with dikes from level III to level I to focus on directing functional agencies to increase patrols and guard dikes according to the alarm level; arrange adequate human resources, means, equipment, organize patrols and guard dikes according to regulations.

At the same time, deploy to review, check and arrange adequate equipment to ensure the work of patrolling and guarding the dike. When detecting an incident, it is necessary to immediately deploy a protection plan, prepare forces, materials and means to promptly protect the dike and handle incidents that occur from the first hour.

Pay special attention to culverts under the dike. When detecting leakage through the gills or jammed culverts, it is necessary to organize immediate handling. Absolutely do not be negligent or subjective, allowing small incidents to develop into major incidents.

Carry out the work of clearing and cleaning trees, collecting garbage on the dike roof in the management area, creating favorable conditions for patrolling and guarding the dike. Regularly report the dike situation and incidents (if any) to the Department of Agriculture and Environment (through the Irrigation Sub-Department).

The incident at location K37+600 right dike of Cau (Yen Trung commune) has been reinforced.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, previously, due to the influence of storm No. 10, in recent days, heavy rains in the province have caused the soil to become saturated with water, leading to a number of dike incidents on the dike routes. For example, on October 1, 2025, at K7+200 on the left dike of Cau (Hop Thinh commune), at K37+600 on the right dike of Cau (Yen Trung commune), there was a dike slope collapse and efflorescence incident. The local authorities mobilized forces, materials and means to immediately handle the incidents.
