TPO – The Prime Minister requested the People’s Committees of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region where expressway projects pass through to speed up progress, hand over all land for projects this July, and complete licensing of sand mines for full exploitation next August.
The Government Office has just announced the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh after his working trip with ministries and localities on handling difficulties and problems for key transport projects in the Mekong Delta region, Ho Chi Minh City and related provinces.
According to the announcement, up to now, besides the results achieved, the implementation of the projects still has some limitations, shortcomings and continues to face difficulties and obstacles. The site clearance work has not been completely completed in some projects, if not resolved completely in July, it will greatly affect the progress of the projects.

In some places, the management of supply and coordination of filling materials is still cautious and not timely, causing shortages, leading to slow project implementation. Meanwhile, in some places, management is lax and not strict, leading to violations that must be handled.

The Prime Minister requested the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the provinces and cities of Dong Thap, An Giang, Can Tho, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, and Ca Mau to direct departments, branches, and localities to speed up progress and hand over all land for expressway projects in the area in July.
Kien Giang province alone needs to complete procedures and hand over the entire site of the Ho Chi Minh road project, Rach Soi – Ben Nhat, Go Quao – Vinh Thuan sections. Tien Giang province must hand over the site of the Cao Lanh – An Huu expressway component 2 project before September 30.

Regarding construction materials, the Prime Minister requested the Minister of Transport to preside, and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment to continue supporting and guiding localities with sources of sand for roadbed leveling (An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Soc Trang, etc.) to promptly grant licenses, extend exploitation, increase mine capacity, and meet project progress.
During the process, do not impose regulations that cause difficulties, hinder sand supply activities, slow down progress, or increase project costs. Complete mining licensing procedures in July to exploit all sand mines in August.
