Ton Duc Thang Museum receives precious documentary film about Uncle Ton

Ton Duc Thang Museum received 24 valuable documentaries about Uncle Ton's revolutionary activities from 1964 to 1976, from a representative of AIDAY Company.

On the morning of August 20, Ton Duc Thang Museum held a meeting to celebrate the 137th birthday of President Ton Duc Thang (August 20, 1888 - August 20, 2025).

This is one of the annual activities to express gratitude to Uncle Ton - a staunch communist, exemplary leader, an outstanding son of his homeland An Giang , a loyal soldier of the international communist and workers' movement.

Received many valuable artifacts and documents

Mr. Pham Thanh Nam - Director of Ton Duc Thang Museum - reviewed the life and revolutionary career of President Ton Duc Thang.

“In any position, as a worker or President , Uncle Ton always demonstrated revolutionary moral qualities: simple, honest, upright, devoted to the country and the people, Uncle always devoted all his affection to his compatriots and comrades.

Uncle Ho was always a man of action, from feelings stemming from patriotism, supporting justice, to fighting for the victory of the revolution" - Mr. Pham Thanh Nam said.

On this occasion, Ton Duc Thang Museum received many valuable artifacts and documents donated by President Ton Duc Thang's family.

Among them are many household items associated with Uncle Ton and his wife at house number 35 Tran Phu street, Hanoi since 1959, photos recording Uncle Ton's activities from 1968 to 1979, many diplomatic gifts given to President Ton Duc Thang by ambassadors from the former Soviet Union, Poland, and Czechoslovakia.

At the same time, Mr. Vien Hong Quang - representative of AIDAY Company - presented 24 valuable documentaries recording Uncle Ton's revolutionary activities from 1964 to 1976.

"The documentary film donated to Ton Duc Thang Museum is precious footage of Uncle Ton filmed by major international news agencies before 1975.

These materials were purchased by AIDAY to make a documentary. After processing, the company filtered, upgraded the images, and arranged them by time to send as gifts" - Mr. Vien Hong Quang shared with Tuoi Tre Online .

The donated documentaries include: Uncle Ton attending the International Solidarity Conference with the Vietnamese people in 1964, Uncle Ton visiting the Fatherland Front on New Year's Eve in 1971, Uncle Ton participating in the National General Election in 1975, Uncle Ton attending the International Children's Day in 1971, Uncle Ton participating in local elections in 1973, participating in the National Assembly election in 1975...

25 years of Ton Duc Thang Award

Also on the morning of August 20, Ton Duc Thang Museum opened a special exhibition on 25 years of Ton Duc Thang Award.

The exhibition introduces nearly 400 documents and artifacts honoring outstanding workers, engineers, and laborers with many initiatives, technical innovations, and active contributions to the emulation movement for good workers, creative workers, and training young workers.

Through this, we contribute to spreading the image of dynamic, intelligent and dedicated workers, civil servants and laborers in Ho Chi Minh City.

The special exhibition on 25 years of Ton Duc Thang Award takes place at Ton Duc Thang Museum, from August 20 to December 31.

Director of Ton Duc Thang Museum Pham Thanh Nam informed that Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has approved the investment policy for the project to restore and embellish the national historical relic of President Ton Duc Thang Memorial Site, in Ba Son area.

This is a group B project with a total investment of 254,989 billion VND, funded by the city budget. The Center for Conservation and Promotion of Historical and Cultural Relics of Ho Chi Minh City is responsible for organizing and implementing the project in the 2026-2028 period.
