On March 27, speaking with VietNamNet reporter, Mr. Tran Trung Kien, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuong Mao ward (Que Vo town, Bac Ninh province) said that at around 4am today, an incident occurred in the area where a young man suspected of being "high on drugs" entered a resident's house, restrained a little girl and threatened her with a knife.

"The baby was born in 2016. The victim's family sells bread on 18th Street so they opened the door early in the morning. The subject entered the house and sat down, then went up to the second floor and saw the baby sleeping. He controlled the child and brought him to the roof of the 1st floor house next door," Mr. Kien informed.

Immediately after that, the family reported to the authorities. At more than 8am the same day, the subject was controlled.

"The Bac Ninh Provincial Police and local authorities were able to control the suspect and rescue the girl. The victim was very frightened and was taken to the hospital for a health check," said Mr. Kien.

Initially, the authorities determined that the subject was from Hai Phong and had not registered for temporary residence or temporary absence in the area.

The incident is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
