Dr. Quang Minh said that sinus disease is closely related to climate and environmental factors. In Hanoi , Ho Chi Minh City in particular and in Vietnam in general, air pollution is increasing, leading to an increase in sinus disease.

Sinusitis occurs in all ages, especially in people who travel, communicate, and work a lot. Sinusitis affects the health and work efficiency of the patient (Sinusitis will cause runny nose, nose blowing, headache so work efficiency is not high).

Sinusitis can have eye complications causing amblyopia, blindness, brain complications, brain invasion, meningitis or abscess.

According to Dr. Quang Minh, people with sinusitis must clean their nose and throat daily, wear a mask when going to crowded and dusty environments, and improve the body's resistance by eating a diet rich in green vegetables and vitamins...

For patients with allergic rhinitis, accounting for 70% of patients with sinusitis, it is necessary to reduce eating foods that cause allergies such as beef, seafood... avoid cold wind and dust. There are 2 types of allergic rhinitis: year-round allergic rhinitis and seasonal allergic rhinitis.

For people with seasonal allergic rhinitis, when the season changes, they will treat it by preventing it from getting worse. People with year-round allergies can use corticosteroids to reduce allergic rhinitis.

Many treatments for sinusitis

Currently in Vietnam there are ways to treat sinusitis with anti-allergy drugs, systemic corticosteroids, or topical corticosteroids, and drugs that enhance the body's immune system.

Specific desensitization method is considered a specific treatment for allergic rhinitis. The patient will be injected with 20-30 types of allergens, then the condition will be re-evaluated, if the red halo is large, it shows that the allergy to that type is strong.

Every day, the patient will be injected with that allergen at a gradually increasing dose so that the body can create antibodies to get used to that allergen so that later it will be better and not have allergies...
