On the evening of March 13, Dr. Truong Tu Trach - Deputy Director of Soc Trang General Hospital - said that the unit had coordinated with Hoang Tuan General Hospital (Soc Trang) to successfully resuscitate patient TKN (52 years old, Tran De district, Soc Trang) who had cardiac and respiratory arrest thanks to coronary intervention techniques.
On March 9, Mr. N. was admitted to the emergency room at Hoang Tuan General Hospital in a state of cardiac and respiratory arrest. Here, the patient received cardiopulmonary resuscitation from the emergency doctors at Hoang Tuan General Hospital, restoring his heart rate and breathing.
Immediately afterwards, the emergency team consulted by phone with Soc Trang General Hospital and decided to transfer the patient to the Provincial General Hospital for cardiovascular emergency .
The emergency department of Soc Trang General Hospital received patient N. in a very critical condition, lethargic, weak pulse, blood pressure dropped to only 70/40 mmHg, and heart rhythm disorder.
Immediately, the general emergency department started to alert the entire hospital, the intensive care and interventional cardiology departments, etc. The emergency team held an emergency consultation, resuscitated the patient, and transferred him to the cardiac catheterization room to perform coronary angiography.
The results showed that the patient had a completely blocked left coronary artery branch (LAD I). Doctors placed a stent to reopen the left coronary artery, saving the patient's life.
After intervention, Mr. N. no longer had chest pain, had less difficulty breathing, had a regular heart rate, and was extubated and taken off the ventilator.
Doctor Truong Tu Trach - who directly directed the cardiovascular intervention for patient N. - said this was a critical, life-threatening case. "However, thanks to the inter-hospital red alert procedure of Hoang Tuan General Hospital - Soc Trang General Hospital and the hospital-wide red alert procedure, we were able to save the patient's life in time.
Timely detection and intervention helped the patient recover quickly without leaving any sequelae. I was very happy to see the patient stable. Soc Trang General Hospital is always ready to serve people in emergency medical situations," said Dr. Trach.
Mr. N. also emotionally shared: "Having just gone through a dangerous situation, I now feel much better. I am truly grateful to the doctors and nurses of the two hospitals who promptly saved my life at the last minute. Once again, I would like to thank the doctors and nurses who saved my life."
