The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued an official dispatch requesting the Hanoi Department of Education and Training to direct the enrollment of students into specialized high schools in accordance with regulations. According to the content of this official dispatch, the Ministry of Education and Training said that, based on Clause 1, Article 62 of the 2019 Education Law, specialized schools are established at the high school level, so there is no junior high school level in specialized schools.

Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Training requested Hanoi to direct the enrollment of students into specialized high schools in accordance with regulations.

In the document, the Ministry of Education and Training also stated that the secondary school enrollment model of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted is no longer in accordance with regulations. Therefore, from this year, Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted is not allowed to enroll 6th graders.

Every year, the number of applications for the secondary school system submitted to Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted reaches about 3,000 - 5,000 candidates. Meanwhile, the enrollment quota is about 200 places.

In the 2023-2024 school year, students who wanted to be admitted to grade 6 at this school needed to pass strict requirements such as having 5 years of primary school with excellent completion of learning and training tasks, and not having more than 2 9 points in all subjects during the 5 years.

The news that Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted will stop enrolling students for the junior high school program this year is making many parents worried, especially those whose children are in grade 5 and have prepared plans to submit their application for grade 6 at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted in the 2024 - 2025 school year.
