The Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment has just signed and issued Decision No. 3368/QD-BNNMT to strengthen the Ministry's Steering Committee on science, technology development, innovation, digital transformation and the Project on developing applications of population data, electronic identification and authentication to serve national digital transformation in the 2022-2025 period, with a vision to 2030 (Project 06).
The Steering Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment consists of 35 members, headed by Acting Minister Tran Duc Thang. Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien is the Standing Deputy Head. Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien and Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung are the Deputy Heads of the Committee.
The Steering Committee also has a secretary and 30 members who are heads of departments, bureaus, research institutes, press agencies and organizations, including: Department of Organization and Personnel, Department of Planning and Finance, Department of International Cooperation, Department of Legislation, Chief of the Ministry Office, Department of Digital Transformation, Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Control; Department of Forestry and Forest Protection; Department of Management and Construction of Irrigation Works; Department of Economic Cooperation and Rural Development.

According to the decision, the Steering Committee is responsible for assisting the Minister in directing and synchronously operating activities on science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, implementing Project 06 as well as carrying out administrative reforms of the ministry.
The Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, Digital Transformation and Project 06 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment will directly direct the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, Resolutions and Decisions of the National Assembly, the Government, and the Prime Minister, and at the same time monitor, evaluate, review and summarize the implementation situation.

Not only stopping at the internal scope, the steering committee is also responsible for closely coordinating with ministries, branches and central agencies to ensure unity and efficiency in the implementation of tasks.
To improve the effectiveness of its operations, the steering committee is organized into three specialized working groups. Of which, the Working Group on Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation is headed by Deputy Minister Phung Duc Tien; the Working Group on Project 06 is headed by Deputy Minister Tran Quy Kien; and the Working Group on Administrative Reform is headed by Deputy Minister Vo Van Hung.
A representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment said that each working group will directly direct and urge relevant units to carry out tasks in assigned fields; domestic and foreign experts can be mobilized for support.
The above consolidation not only creates a centralized, synchronous and unified management mechanism, but also affirms the determination to make science, technology and innovation become key driving forces for development.
In addition, by linking with Project 06 on the application of population data, electronic identification and authentication, the Steering Committee will contribute to promoting the comprehensive digital transformation process, building a modern, transparent administration, taking people and businesses as the center of service./.
