'Unique' durian buffet in Ho Chi Minh City: Nearly 2 tons sold out, stops accepting customers early

Nearly 2 tons of durian prepared for the durian buffet were sold out, and the store in Ho Chi Minh City had to announce that it would stop accepting customers earlier than expected.

Yesterday, the durian buffet event took place at a fruit shop on Ba Thang Hai Street in Hoa Hung Ward (Ward 12, old District 10) causing a stir on social networks. Many customers in Ho Chi Minh City were excited to experience this event, which many people commented as unique, when for the first time they got to eat durian in a buffet style.

Fruits T&T, the organizer, said they had prepared nearly 2 tons of durian selected from gardens in Dong Nai to serve the event. The event took place on Sunday, July 6, and was originally scheduled to last from 10am to 7pm.

However, due to the large number of visitors, the durian that the store had prepared was sold out. The store had to announce that it was temporarily closing the store earlier than expected.

"The strong spread from the community and media has exceeded expectations, causing the event to welcome a large number of participants in a very short time. Due to the impact of the weather and some difficulties in the transportation process, the additional batch of durian could not arrive in time as originally planned. For that reason, we regret to temporarily stop receiving customers during the last time frame of 7:00 p.m.," the store said.

The store apologizes for the inconvenience and hopes to receive sympathy from customers. The unit said that there will be adjustments and improvements to bring a more complete and professional experience in the next events, thanking customers for supporting this event.

Durian served at the event received many compliments from diners.

A representative of Fruits T&T fruit store said this is the third time the unit has organized a durian buffet event, following the success of the first time it was held in the new Dong Thap (old Tien Giang ).

Customers in Ho Chi Minh City who visit this store's durian buffet can enjoy unlimited durian for 1 hour at the price of 199,000 VND/buffet ticket. "The durian buffet events we organize all take advantage of Vietnamese durian resources, with the desire to widely promote local agricultural products and support farmers," the store representative added.
