Exemplary and enthusiastic Women's Union staff

With more than 12 years of association activities and women's movement, Ms. Hoang Thi Nguyen, born in 1974, currently the President of the Women's Union of My Thuan commune, Tan Son district, has always been trusted and respected by the Party Committee, government, members, women as well as local people for her exemplary and enthusiastic work in the Union.

As the President of the Women's Union of the commune, she always closely follows the Resolution of the My Thuan Commune Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and the Resolution of the Women's Congress for the 2021-2026 term, focusing on innovating ways of doing things, being creative, and closely following the grassroots to come up with good ideas and ways of doing things that are suitable for the reality at the grassroots level. She herself not only well implements the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies, actively participates in emulation movements and activities of the Union, but also regularly propagates to her family as well as mobilizes members, women and people in the commune to actively participate in activities and movements of the Union, contributing to the good implementation of the local political tasks as well as developing the Union movement of My Thuan commune to become increasingly stronger.

Understanding the hardships of women in the mountainous areas, she, along with the Standing Committee and the Executive Committee of the Commune Women's Union, always accompanies and helps women build and develop the economy . She boldly proposed to the superior Union and the Social Policy Bank, the Fund for Supporting Poor Women of Phu Tho province to lend capital to women members; established a women's association group "raising bees for honey" and selling bee seeds with 10 members in Binh hamlet with over 5,000 honey bee nests for an average income of 8 million VND/month/member. The Women's Union coordinated with the Commune Farmers' Association to establish a "broiler chicken" association group with 12 members in Choc hamlet, currently raising and caring for about 30,000 chickens/batch, with a stable income of 6-8 million VND/month/member.

In addition, she and the Executive Committee of the Commune Women's Union have propagated to cadres, members and women to deploy and implement the model "Family vegetable garden"; the model "Clean house - Beautiful garden - Clean alley" to mobilize members' families and people to classify waste, renovate mixed gardens; mobilize all levels of the union to actively respond to the program of planting 1 billion trees; build "Women's flower road"; regularly launch activities to clean up and sanitize village roads and alleys monthly, quarterly and on the occasion of major holidays of the year. From 2021 to now, there are more than 1,000 households maintaining the model "Family vegetable garden" and more than 1,500 households "Clean house - beautiful garden - clean alley", members donated more than 4,000m2 of residential land, more than ^1ha of cultivated land to make rural concrete roads...

Along with the implementation and construction of economic development models, Ms. Nguyen and the Executive Committee of the Commune Women's Union always do a good job of taking care of the material and spiritual life of members, women and children, enhancing the role and position of the Union. The Commune Women's Union connects and adopts godmothers for two orphans in difficult circumstances; regularly visits, gives gifts, and shares help to members and children in difficult circumstances; coordinates with the departments and organizations of the Women's Union at higher levels to organize conferences to propagate gender equality, and solve urgent problems for women and children. 14/14 Women's Union branches in the commune have established a women's volleyball club and a folk dance club. Along with that, there are Xoan singing, Vi singing, Rang singing, Moi dancing clubs... to promote and preserve the identity of the Muong ethnic group and contribute to protecting intangible cultural heritage. From collective activities, the emulation movements of production labor have spread, actively participating in cultural, artistic and sports movements in the residential community, contributing to attracting women of age to participate in the Association's activities. Currently, the membership attraction rate is over 80%, quite high compared to the district average.

Not only implementing and promoting emulation movements among cadres and members in the commune, Ms. Nguyen and the Executive Committee of the Commune Women's Union also launched the movement "Accompanying women in the border areas" with practical activities. From the beginning of 2023 to now, the Women's Union of My Thuan commune has donated more than 5 million VND to support the construction of warm homes in the border areas, presented 50 national flags, 50 photos of Uncle Ho to households living in border areas in the communes of Dao San Border Post, Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province (a twinned unit with the District Women's Union).

Exemplary, always close to and attached to members and enthusiastic and responsible in the work of the Union, over the years, Ms. Hoang Thi Nguyen has always been recognized and highly appreciated by the local Party Committee, government, and Women's Union. In 2021, the Women's Union of My Thuan commune was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union. In 2022, Ms. Hoang Thi Nguyen received a Certificate of Merit from the District People's Committee for her outstanding achievements in the work of entrusting loans from the Social Policy Bank in 2022. In 2023, she was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Women's Union of Phu Tho province as "Excellent grassroots union official, period 2021-2023". Those certificates of merit are a source of encouragement and motivation for her to continue to contribute more, contributing to the development of the women's movement in the commune and district.
