The Dak Nong General Hospital upgrade project is entering its final construction phase. This is the first project in Lam Dong to have a helipad, serving emergency patients.

The project is invested by Construction Investment Project Management Board 3. The hospital is designed according to grade 2 hospital standards, including 18 departments, covering an area of nearly 12 hectares. Notably, this is a project with a helipad for emergency patient care and is the first hospital in Lam Dong province to have this facility. The 700-bed hospital project with modern medical equipment is expected to meet the health care needs of people in the western region of Lam Dong.

The unit is focusing on construction in the main building area of the project. The building includes a 4-storey block, a 7-storey block and 1 basement. The main construction area is about 8,200m2 , the total floor area is nearly 48,000m2 . Regarding the renovation and repair, blocks B, C, D, E have been completed and handed over. Half of block A was completed and handed over in September, the remaining part will be constructed in a rolling manner and completed in December this year. According to the construction unit representative, the project has completed 75% of the volume. “Currently, the contractor is installing main equipment such as elevators, lights, and sanitary equipment. The unit will continue to import full terminal equipment in September to complete installation in October. In November, the trial run will be conducted, and in December, the project will be handed over and accepted,” said the contractor representative.

Previously, this project has installed and operated an MRI machine (worth more than 20 billion VND). Each day, this device can serve about 15-20 patients. In parallel with the construction of the main building area, the technical infrastructure including yards, internal roads, lighting systems, trees, drainage, etc. is also being completed. At the end of August, the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee delegation came to inspect the project's construction progress. According to the investor's report, there are currently no more difficulties or problems. During the inspection, comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, suggested that the health sector should study a model combining treatment and convalescence. Especially when the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway project is completed, the hospital needs to have strategies to attract patients for care and treatment.
