At 4 p.m. on January 15, before the afternoon rush hour, Ring Road 3 was already congested from Thanh Tri Bridge ramp to near Thang Long Bridge, nearly 30 km long, turning the "foreign" Ring Road 3 into a Red Belt Road (small photo).

Stating the cause of traffic congestion on Ring Road 3, the leader of the Hanoi Department of Transport said that the number of vehicles is 6 times higher than the road surface design.

In addition to private cars, the leader of the Hanoi Department of Transport said that the large number of trucks, containers, and passenger cars transiting through Hanoi is the reason why Ring Road 3 is overloaded with traffic density.

To reduce traffic density and congestion on Ring Road 3 and intersections connected by elevated Ring Road 3 branches, the Hanoi Department of Transport has just proposed a solution and is coordinating with relevant units to develop a plan to ban trucks, passenger cars, etc. from circulating by the hour, or during the day, on the elevated Ring Road 3.
