On September 16, the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City organized a meeting for teams of excellent students and teachers to train teams of excellent high school students to compete at the national level in the 2025-2026 school year.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Can Tho City has 10 teams of excellent high school students competing at the national level, with a total of 222 candidates, participating in the subjects of Math (26), Physics (23), Chemistry (10), Biology (19), Literature (28), History (30), Geography (30), English (30), French (10) and Informatics (16).

According to the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho City, the training period is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 is in the form of online training. The main connection point is located in one of the clusters, the remaining clusters have students studying online. The training period starts from September 18.

Students of the selected teams will have convenient travel to the training clusters; with locations including Ly Tu Trong High School for the Gifted (Cai Rang Ward), Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School for the Gifted ( Soc Trang Ward), and Vi Thanh High School for the Gifted (Vi Thanh Ward).

In phase 2, students will receive intensive training directly at Ly Tu Trong High School for the Gifted. If necessary, it can be organized in the evenings during the training period. The team's departure ceremony is expected to be on December 22.

The purpose of organizing review, training, fostering and coaching is to improve the quality and effectiveness of the team of excellent high school students participating in the National High School Excellent Student Selection Exam for the 2025-2026 school year.
