On the morning of September 11, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Melissa A. Brown led a working delegation to visit and work with leaders of the City Party Committee and People's Committee of Can Tho City.
Ms. Melissa A. Brown expressed her impression when visiting and congratulating Can Tho city after the administrative unit merger and the successful establishment of a two-level local government; hoping that in the coming time, more and more US products will come to Vietnam, including Can Tho city.
Ms. Melissa A. Brown expressed her appreciation for the cooperation between Can Tho and the United States in many fields, including education and training, and healthcare, contributing to promoting global health security.
Mr. Do Thanh Binh, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, emphasized that in the field of investment cooperation in the city, many US non-governmental organizations and funds have actively sponsored scholarships for students, supported medical equipment, provided humanitarian assistance for children and the elderly, and contributed practically to local social security.

Currently, in Can Tho, there are a number of projects that are cooperating and looking forward to continuing to cooperate with US partners, including: Project to support the enhancement of comprehensive eye care for the community at the Eye-Dentist-Facial Hospital, Cardiovascular Hospital and City General Hospital.
The city hopes that these programs will soon continue to be implemented, contributing to improving the quality of medical care and health care for local people.
Can Tho city leaders wish to strengthen cooperation with US partners in the fields of trade, investment, health, education, training to improve high-quality human resources; promote cooperation in technology transfer and development in the city's priority areas such as biotechnology, high-tech agriculture, innovation and invention, mechanical engineering, environmental technology to combat climate change, high-tech medical diagnostic equipment, clean energy, semiconductor technology and digital transformation...
Currently, the city receives four direct investment projects from the United States, with a total registered capital of more than 6.5 million USD in the fields of animal and vegetable oil processing, international trade, and jewelry and food production.
The city's health sector cooperates with the US organizations MEET and IPSAC to exchange and learn experiences in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric surgery, treatment of tumors, tuberculosis and lung diseases... These are positive signals showing the interest of US investors in the development potential of Can Tho./.
